WILL ELECTRONIC MEDIA BRING ABOUT THE END OF PRINT MEDIA ?
Undoubtedly, any latest news reaches to millions of people in a very short span of time due to the widespread coverage of media. Print media, which includes newspapers and magazines, has been a major source of providing information to the general public from times immemorial. They are easy to access, accurate and verified.
On the other hand, Electronic media, which includes televisions and radios, are not only easy to access but are also visually pleasing to the eye. However, news shown on the television is not always accurate and authentic. In fact, fake and exaggerated news are often spread by them. Moreover, news channels on television are supposed to telecast news for twenty four hours. This makes them repeat and elaborate the news, making it dull and monotonous. They even air scandals of Bollywood and politicians to fill their time and to gain popularity, labeling them as 'news'.

On the contrary, newspapers provide all type of information and news under its different columns ranging from politics and sports to glamour and astrology. They also have editorial comments and quotes from eminent people in the field. Thus they cater to the interests of all kinds of readers. Furthermore, the government can also spread information on serious health issues like spread of dengue, swine flu etc. through newspapers. They are accessed by not only the rich and medium class people but also by the poor and lower sections of society. Spreading information and awareness to a wider audience irrespective of class, is done effectively by print media.
So, I can safely conclude that print media is going to stay as it has its own audience and reach. Besides, it has taken the test of time and has proven itself. Thus, we can be sure of enjoying our habit of reading the newspaper with our morning tea for many more years to come!
