Why Do These Cows Have Holes Drilled Into Their Sides?
Often farmers in the USA and New Zealand drill hole in cow's stomach.
It is often done to clean their stomach as the farmer leaves the cow to graze. Sometimes the cow eats polythene and such other garbage by which it becomes ill and eventually dies most of the time.
To avoid this, a hole is made in the stomach of the cow and an opening remains closed by a plastic cover (which is called Fistula) and the garbage is removed by putting the gloved hand inside the stomach.

A fistula is cut on the side of a cow during surgery. The operation does not hurt much (anesthetic drug is injected ) and the hole does not affect the lifetime of the cow.
The window is then plugged in with a plastic cup, which the doctors open if they need to reach the stomach of a cow. This helps them to understand how the stomach works, and it can also be used to help other sick cows.
By putting hands in the hole of a healthy cow,the greenish material is taken out. The whole juice is then squeezed in a bucket. The healthy cow's juice is then put into a sick cow through a feeding tube. By this process the digestive tract of the sick cow restrengthens.
