Not at the moment. For years, it was the Kennedy family, but once John Jr. crashed his plane into the ocean with his wife and her sister aboard, the family fell out of the news. The Obamas were almost like a secret royal family, but again, they aren’t in the White House and are quietly doing their own thing now.
Looking to celebrities, Beyoncé and Jay Z are revered, but not by all. J Lo is starting to wear on people. There’s Nichole Kidman and Keith Urban, but they don't have the draw needed to be a secret royal family.
The Kardashians are royalty in a sense. Each one is a star. Yes, Caitlyn Jenner isn’t as big profile but Kris, Kim and Kanye, Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie are all hard workers and make serious money. I don't think they are posh or super high society, but they do seem approachable and kind. There’s that. So maybe we do really have an American royal family and it’s the Kardashians.
My hope is that Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston get back together. Maybe they won’t be royalty, but they’ll get close if they choose to. Honestly, take your pick from all the celebrities who are high profile and they are the ones selling magazines, so they’re the most popular and thus, American royalty.
