According to the current situation in the country, Directorate General of Civil Aviation has extended the dates to start commercial domestic flights in the country. Ministry of Home Affairs has also extended lock-down in the country. They have decided to continue lock-down in every state for two weeks. Government is trying to save every citizen. They want public support at this pandemic time. Social distancing is only a single way to protect peoples from this unknown enemy. In a country like India, It is not easy to lock peoples in their houses. Expected, Situations can be better in the few upcoming days.
According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Only passengers flights are not allowed in this duration. All other cargo flights will be operated normally to fulfill the needs of the nation. Cargo flights will be operated by special permission of Directorate General of Civil Aviation. Cargo and other emergency services are still operated successfully by the Airport Authority of India and their other partners.
According to the last statement of air India. They had announced to start domestic flights from 3rd May in-country. After the extension in lock-down, Airport Authority of India and the Government of India has decided to stop commercial flights. To start commercial flights in the country, The Airport Authority of India has to wait a few more days. Government is planning to open lock-down in different ways in the country. So, It may possible to allow domestic flight services in a few states which are not coming under the red zone.
We have to wait for the final decision of our government. The government announced to allow permissions for domestic flights if it is possible and safe for everyone. But in the current situation, It is not safe to start domestic flights in the country. The government will announce the exact information related to flights in few upcoming days.
