Let us first understand that from where the concept of weed started

He is naga sadhu, belongs to naga sect of shaivism, one of the most dedicated sect of the world

Now if you observe, you can see this sadhu is smoking weed and ash is smashed all over his body.

But why they do it ?

There is simple logic behind it, these sadhus live in himalayan areas, in -40 degree temperature, when they smash ash over their body, the pores of their body get blocked and the transfer of heat did not take place, we all know energy(heat) flow from high temperature to low temperature , so the temperature inside their body is very high and the temperature outside very low, so they samsh ash all over their body to block the pores of their body and stop the transfer of heat

But how the temperature inside their body increase?

They meditate, they do different pranayam and most importantly they smoke weed to keep the temperature of body high this is how they live with naked body even in -40 degree temperature

Now the point is if these sadhus do these things to keep them protected from the cold, how you can blame lord shiva for this?

Let me tell you who is lord shiva

In rudrashtakam it is written that

कलातीतकल्याण कल्पान्तकारी
सदा सज्जनानन्ददाता पुरारी ।
चिदानन्दसंदोह मोहापहारी
प्रसीद प्रसीद प्रभो मन्मथारी

Meaning - Who Always Give Great Joy to the Wise Men and Who is the Enemy (signifying Destroyer) of the Tripurasuras (who represents Adharma),
 By Taking Away the Great Delusion, He plunges the prepared Soul in the Fullness of Cidananda (the Bliss of Brahman or Pure Consciousness)

Lord shiva is said as giver of eternal bliss, eternal knowledge and eternal truth ( sadchidanand data purani means who give sadchitanand)

Sadchitanand is made of three words - satya ( eternal truth), chitta ( eternal knowledge) and eternal bliss ( aanada)

Now ask yourself, the Lord who is the giver of eternal bliss which is million times intense than any material pleasure, why he would smoke weed?

Lord shiva is bliss himself, he is the state of blissful himself, he ask you to give up desires and you think he himself is addicted to weed 😂

Now you will say why bhaang offered to him?

So bhaang is worshipped to him as medicine in the form of leaves as one of the aspect of lord shiva is known as vaidhyanath ( lord of doctors)

In order to show respect , we offer him bhang leaves, bilwa leaves ( you can offer any natural thing to him as he is lord of nature known as bhootnath which means lord of key elements of nature)

Today medical science proved it that bhaang has brilliant healing properties

Why we do not research anything and blame shiva directly? If you can not worship at least do not blame him directly 😀 there are emotions attached to shiva and we should respect that
