In San Francisco, the United States of America there is a stay for the homeless people, it has been named Safe Sleeping Village. Tents are provided to homeless people in between the Central Library and the Asian Art Museum. Social distancing between two tents has also been taken care of. Clean water, food and bathing arrangements have also been made for them here.
Garbage is also removed from time to time to prevent spread of disease from dirt among the people living here. People are appreciating this initiative of the city and sharing their pictures on social media. 37 year old Nicholas Woodward, who lives in the camp, says it is safe to live here. My friend Nathan says that this system is better than any hotel because clean water and food is being provided here at no cost.
Nicholas says that I read about this camp in the newspaper some days ago. There are also people who were looking for a hotel to stay. It is quite a safe place. In San Francisco, around 1,300 homeless people are looking for rooms in the hotel. The mayor here has been subjected to criticism for not showing speed in making arrangements for the homeless.
America's largest health agency Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that people living in tents during the epidemic should not be disturbed. Help is provided to them as much as possible. Dr. Margot Kushel, director of the California Unity Center for Vulnerable Populations, says the house is the first and best destination, the second hotel. If both are not there, then roadside camping is safe.
