- Present: Well, present national security adviser Ajit Doval enjoys full confidence of Union cabinet . His status has been elevated to member of Union cabinet with full powers, perks and privileges .

- Unlike past, NSA conducts multi tasks - special envoy on security affairs with Pakistan and China; supervision on economic affairs ; internal and external strategic interests and so on. Some one like Nirmala Sitharaman could be chosen.[3]
