the boldest movies ever by Bollywood

Isn’t it ironic how a film which explores the subject of Kama Sutra is banned in the land of Kama Sutra. This Mira Nair directed art film won numerous awards all over the world, but our censor board couldn’t digest the excessive bareness depicted in the film for the expression of the story. It’s one of the most famous banned Indian films.
Sins (2005)
The film tells the erotic journey of a Catholic priest who gets romantically involved with a young woman. Due to the controversial topless scenes and projecting the Catholicism in a negative way, this film was banned. The film is based on a true story of a priest in Kerala who was sentenced to death for murder and harassment charges. The film stars Shiney Ahuja and Seema Rahmani in the leading roles, as the name goes, the film features a lot of sinfully explicit bare scenes.
Angry Indian Goddesses (2015)
The film tells the story of seven modern Indian women who come together to celebrate a wedding in Goa. While we know that Hindi cinema has an old tradition of making films on male friendships. For example, take a look at Dil Chahta Hai, 3 Idiots. Finding female-led films in this type of genre is pretty hard. The film Angry Indian goddesses which is directed by the notable Pan Nalin who is an internationally acclaimed Indian director, best known for his debut film some Samsara and many great documentaries.
Gandu (2010)
This film caused a lot of controversies and was heavily criticized for its content. It features excessive profanity, intimate scenes, and a lot more stuff that you surely don’t wanna watch with your family. Because of the language and scenes, the audiences have left the film in between, especially when the lead actor of the film shows his willy. It has oral and very revealing scenes between Anubrata Basu and Rituparna Sen, the film is directed by Rituparna’s boyfriend. The film was praised for its cinematography, visuals, and for its black and white format.
Loev (2015)
Sudhanshu Saria directorial debut film ‘Loev’ was released in 2015 on Netflix because it is based on the objectional subject as per the Indian censor board. This means people in India can finally watch it without the censor board. Loev follows India’s unspoken quiere with focusing on a reunion between two old friends who now belong to distinctly different worlds. A melancholy tale where questions have no easy answers. As a matter of circumstance, but one where even momentary feels infinite.
Rang Rasiya
Rang Rasiya which stars Randeep Hooda who plays the character of painter Raja Ravi Verma. He was one of the early just to add up to European painting style and blended with Indian classic to give faces to Indian deities. The film was released after half a decade as it depicted the life of controversial painter Roger Varma. The film confronted a lot of open revealing shots without remorse which was the major reason for its ban. Well the director once said film reach to everyone. We needed a partnership and Netflix is the best partner to showcase the reality.
